STR: Pomo is Overrated
Brett Kunkle over at Stand To Reason thinks that postmodernism (and by extension its breathless theological suitor, the Emerging/Emergent Church Movement) is overrated.
BTW, I wholeheartedly agree.
This, too, shall pass.
The Word remains.

Tim Keller made a good point on this at last years Desiring God conference. He pointed out that the emerging/emergent folks don't really control any major seminaries or bible colleges, so it would be hard to really impact the church long term. They pretty much just have their books and networks.
But even so, the "spirit of error" will always live on. Today it's this, tomorrow it will be that. We are already seeing the fruit of this movement in our community. We just had a couple leave their church and come join ours. Their old church was reading Brian McLaren and such. Bad stuff!
